Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs Installation - 2007 Chevrolet Suburban- Video

Speaker 1: Today in our 2007 Chevrolet Suburban, we'll be having a look at and installing the Firestone coil ride air helper springs for the rear axle, part number F4108.All right, here's what our airbags look like installed. These airbags are a suspension enhancement option that's available for our suburban that will allow us to support an additional 500 to 1,000 pounds of weight depending on our application. Now, these won't give us an additional 500 to 1,000 pounds of gross vehicle weight rating or allow us to tow an additional 500 to 1,000 pounds of weight. These will just help maintain that ride height when we have a heavy load that we're towing or on the back of our vehicle by having the level ride height or factory ride height, depending on how you look at it. This will help reduce tire wear, help improve braking, and help keep our headlight angle at a factory location, thus maintaining our factory-like handling characteristics.Now that we've gone over some features, we'll show you how to get them installed. Here's what our air bags look like installed.These airbags will operate between five minimum PSI and 100 maximum PSI. They offer up to 5000 pounds of load leveling support. So what that means is if you're towing a trailer, like a gooseneck or a Fifth Wheel and you had a 5000 pounds pen weight, this will maintain your vehicles right hight up to that amount of weight. Also, if you have a heavy load in the bed of your truck like hauling a load of rocks or gravel, you can maintain your factory right height with that amount of weight.It's important to note that these airbags don't give you an additional 5000 pounds of load carrying capacity. more

Here's what our airbags look like installed. These are simple bolt-in installation, with no modification required to our vehicle at all. These will help maintain our ride height, keeping our vehicle's suspension working as it was originally designed, making for a smoother ride, also helping with braking, stability, and turning. Just keep in mind, these aren't going to offer us additional towing capacity or additional weight-bearing capacity. They're just going to help maintain our ride height and ride quality when we have a heavy load or a heavy pin-weight trailer on our vehicle. Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs Installation - 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500- Video

Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs made for the rear axle. This part number is F2528. Anytime we're getting a lot of weight in the back end of our vehicle, whether it's from let's say a salt-spreader, maybe your fifth wheel or your gooseneck, as we get that sag in the rear end, not only does our rear end come down, but that front starts to angle upward. In the rear, we're going to have excessive friction building up in our leaf springs. Also with that heavy load in, those jounce bumpers are going to be hitting and making contact with the stop, which is going to cause for a rough ride. In the front, once that angle comes up, we're changing steering geometry, so our braking, our stability, our handling aren't going to be nearly as well, and we're also going to increase tire wear. Another side effect will be that our headlights are tilted upward, causing us to not be able to see the road as well as we should. Here's what your airbag kit is going to look like installed. more

Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Airlift Load Lifter 5000 Air Helper Springs for the rear axle, part number AL57338. Here's what this Helper Spring kit's going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. What's really nice about these Air Helper Springs being able to help level out the ride of your vehicle with a heavy load is that when your vehicle's leveled out, it's going to keep your headlights level so you'll be able to see the road properly. It's going to help reduce irregular tire wear. It's going to improve braking performance because you'll have proper weight distribution between the front and rear wheels, and it will also help with side to side body roll, especially with a heavy load. It sits on top of the rear axle here and goes to the mounting plate that's up on the bottom side of the frame. This is going to help to support the rear of the vehicle when there's a load and that way the factory leaf springs aren't taking all of the load and these are able to help. more

Today in our 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with internal jounce bumpers for the rear axle, part number AL88275. Before we get started, let's take a few measurements to see where it sits with our factory suspension unloaded. Here at the rear fender we're looking at about 40 and 1/4 inches. Then if we move up to the front, that's sitting about 38 1/4 inches. So now, with a load on the suspension let's see where it sits. Now at the top of this rear fender we're sitting right about 38 inches. more

Timbren Rear Suspension System Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500- Video

Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Timbren rear suspension enhancement system, part number TGMRCK25D. Before we start any changes, let's go ahead and get some measurements, so we know where our starting point is. It looks like here in the rear it's going to be forty-three inches to the inside of our fender well. Now let's check the front. Here in the front, we've got about forty. Now we've added in about two hundred gallons of water, just to simulate a heavy load in the truck. Now here in the back, we're looking at about forty and a quarter, so we've come down considerably. As you can imagine, this is putting some excess stress on our rear suspension system, excess stress on the rear tires. more

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Installation - 2009 Chevrolet Silverado- Video

Today on our 2009 Chevrolet Silverado we are going to show you how to install the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System, part number is TGMRCK35S. Here you can see our Timbren installed. It is going to give us a nice fuller stop here, our actual jounce stop, or jounce bumper was only about this long. This is going to allow us, with no contact here, to have no real change in the unloading handling of our vehicle. As we apply our load it is going to bring this down and it is going to rest on those jounce stops. That's going to give us improved suspension. more

Air Lift LoadLifter Air Helper Springs Installation - 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500- Video

Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 we'll be taking a look at and installing the air lift low lifter 5000 ultimate air helper springs with internal jounce bumpers. Part number AL88338. Now we're going to go ahead and get a measurement before we put any weight in the back of the truck to see what the stock right height is. Measuring from the center of the tire at the ground to the top here of the fender well is going to be about 42 and three quarter inches. Now we'll go ahead and put in some weight. Now with about 2,750 pounds of water in the back in weight, we're going to see what our measurement is now. We're looking at about 40 inches. So we lost about 2 and three quarter inches of our height. Now let's see how it rides with the stock suspension. With that kind of weight and losing that much ride height it's going to cause the rear of the vehicle to sag as we can see here in the slalom portion of the course. more

Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs Installation - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado F2250- Video

Today, on our 2010 Cheverolet Silverado 3500, we'll be taking a look at and installing the Firestone Ride-Rite air helper springs, part number F2250. These air springs are capable of up to 5000 pounds. They could be aired up from 5 Psi all the way up to 100 Psi. Overall, they provide more stability while driving and reduce the strain on your vehicle's rear suspension. Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs Installation - 2009 Chevrolet Silverado- Video

Today on this 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to show you the Firestone Ride-Right air helper springs, part number F2250. Here's what our Firestone air springs will look like once they're installed. These air springs are capable up to 5,000 pounds, they can be aired up from 5 PSI to 100 PSI. Overall they provide more stability while driving and reduce strain on your rear suspension. Now let's go ahead and give you some measurements. First let's measure our truck without a load in it, from our fender ball to the ground will be about 42 inches. Lets go and put a load in the back and get that measurement, our load brought it down to about 40 inches and we'll go ahead and watch the suspension as we go through our bumps course. You can see how it works on your load without any help. With our load in the back of the truck, we'll put some air back in it, we'll bring it back about an inch, original height was about 42 inches, so we'll go in between and bring our truck back a little past level and that way our truck won't ride too harsh, if we add too much air and bring it back to its original air height. Right let's go and take it for another test ride over our bumps course. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 we're going to show you the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs, part number F2528. First we'll go ahead and get a quick measurement from the fender well to the ground. This is our truck, before we put our load in it, it's about 43". Before we get our install, we'll go ahead and put some weight in the back of the truck and well observe how the suspension works the weight in the truck in stock format 00:00:27. With the weight in the truck we'll get a quick measurement to give you an idea how much weight we put in there. We're down to, form our wheel well to the ground, about 41-1/2". Let's go ahead and take it through our test course with bumps and everything. more

Air Lift LoadLifter Air Helper Springs Installation - 2011 Chevrolet Silverado- Video

Today on our 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, we'll be installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers, part number Al88338. Now before we install the air bags, we're going to go ahead and take a dry weight measurement with nothing in the pickup from the bottom of the wheel well to the ground. Right at 41-3/4". Now we're going to go ahead and add 2750 pounds to the bed of our pickup. With our weight added, we'll now take a second measurement from the bottom of the wheel well to the ground. From the ground to the bottom of the wheel well, and it's dropped it 40", losing 1-3/4" with our weight added to the rear of the pickup. Now we're going to go ahead and run it through our test course. more

Today, on our 2007 Chevy Silverado, new body style, we'll be installing the airlift vehicle suspension system, part number AL88275. First, to begin our install, we're going to go ahead and check the ride height of our truck. Here, with the vehicle on flat ground and no weight added, from the ground to the top of our wheel well is 41 1/2 inches. Next, we're going to go ahead and add approximately 2500 pounds to the bed of our truck. We'll double-check our ride height. We're now sitting at 39 inches from the ground to the top of the wheel well. Next, we'll go ahead and run it through our test course. more

Today on our 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD crew cab we're going to be installing the Firestone Ride-Rite air helper springs, part number F2250. Now before we install our air bags we're going to go ahead and take a couple measurements to get a baseline for the vehicle. From the ground to the bottom of the fender well we have 40-1/2". Next we're going to go ahead and install a water tank with a little over 1,500 pounds of weight in it into the bed of the truck. Now we'll go ahead and take another measurement from the ground to the bottom of the wheel well. Now we have a measurement of about 38" from the ground to the bottom of the wheel well. more

Today on our 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD Crew Cab we're going to be installing the timbren rear suspension enhancement system, part number TGMRCK25S. These timbrens are designed to improve suspension handling and safety. The timbrens are designed to become more rigid as more weight is added. As compared to some of the air bag style set ups, these will work completely independently of one another to help compensate for off center loads. They're going to provide additional support as needed, so you always have a smooth ride, and they do not affect the empty ride of your vehicle. Now before we get our timbrens installed, we're going to get two sets of measurements. The first set is going to be the standard vehicle ride height when unloaded. more

Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs Installation - 2006 Chevrolet Silverado- Video

Today on this 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to install part number AL88275. This is a Air Lift LoadLifter 5000. Before we get started, we'll go ahead and get a measurement for our original ride height. From the ground to the wheel well looks about 39-1/4". This measurement will vary from truck to truck, of course. Now with a load in the back of our truck, it looks like our new measurement is 36-1/2. With our truck loaded up, we'll go ahead and take it through our test bump course. You can see how the suspension goes up and down without any help. To get our truck ready to install our air springs, we need to do a couple of things. more

Air Lift Air Helper Springs Installation - 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche- Video

Today in this 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche, were going to install part number AL60769. This is the Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs for coil springs. Before we begin our install, well take some measurements and run a few tests on our vehicle with the factory bump stops on it. First, well measure from the top of the wheel down to the ground with no load on it. This will be your normal ride height. In this case, 38 inches. Then, well go ahead and put in about 1,000 pounds worth of weight in the back. more

Today on our 2007 Chevrolet Silverado we'll be installing the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper springs; Part number F2430. We're going to go ahead and give you a measurement here before we put our test water tank in the back to show you how things ride. We're at about 38 and 1/8th from the ground to the underside of our wheel well here. Now we're going to go ahead and load our water tank here in the bed of our truck. We're going to put about a thousand pounds of weight in the bed of this truck. Now with our water tank loaded we'll go ahead and take another measurement. As you can see here, now we're down to about 35-and-five-eighths. more
